Such a good necklace. I wear this everyday, don’t take it off for showers or sports and it hasn’t tarnished even a little, and it’s been about 4/5 months.

I originally bought this necklace in silver and just now bought it in gold too! Its the perfect level of thickness and is so easy to layer or wear by itself. I’m a spin instructor and personal trainer so in love with all the sweatproof jewelry!
I’ve been using Mai Désirée jewelry for over 2 years and the quality is still the same. Love that I can wear it at the pool, beach or even to a sweaty work out. The designs are beautiful, they have an elegant vibe & that’s what I like from them. Currently buying some bracelets for the first time, so looking forward to try them!!

I shopped around for ~3 weeks online comparing various brands, price points, and materials used for herringbone/snake chains on Etsy, Google, etc. I ultimately landed on Mai Desiree after seeing an IG ad because 1) I didn't want to pay $$$ for solid gold, 2) I wanted something that I could wear at the pool/beach/in the shower without fear of tarnishing and PVD-plated stainless steel seemed to be the winner, 3) I wanted value aka a good price point, and 4) I wanted to support a brand with values that aligned with mine (bonus if they're minority owned). I LOVE that Mai Desiree donates a portion of proceeds to a good cause, and though I don't know if Tina, the founder, is a minority ethnicity, I'm happy to see a fellow Asian woman in the model photos.
I've worn my necklace for 3-4 days so far, with one day at the beach in the water and it has been totally fine--no sign of corrosion or wear. The website photos are quite true to life; PVD plated stainless steel shows up more yellow than your typical 10K gold-plated brass or gold-fill jewelry (which will corrode like heck, so I avoid buying that kind of jewelry), so keep in mind which brands/materials you mix and match when you coordinate earrings vs necklaces vs rings and such. The extender chain is quite versatile, allow you to pair the chain with both plunge necklines and high neck apparel.
ALSO, I added an order note to keep the packaging to a bare minimum since I already have jewelry boxes & cloth bags at home; Tina listened and I still felt like a lot of care went into the packaging :)
